The meanings of elf, and elves, in medieval England: archived material
Alaric gave an accessible sort of paper on some of his work to the Finnish medieval society Glossa (in English!), which is online in Glossa's magazine Glossae. For some reason, the English translation of the Old Norse verse quoted didn't make it into the electronic version, and there was some attrition to the use of italics, but this shouldn't be a serious problem :-)
Alaric also made a complete list of medieval attestations of the word elf in English as he did the thesis. The web version still needs tidying up and updating, but it's here if you're interested.
